Annual Wellness Exams

Veterinary wellness exams every 6-12 months are among the most important components of care you can provide for your pet. These wellness exams provide an opportunity for you to discuss any ongoing concerns about your pet that you may have with our professional staff and doctors. During the physical exam and review of your pet's medical history we may also discover conditions in your pet that you were unaware of. Common diseases that often go unnoticed include dental disease, ear infections, skin conditions, and heart disease. Of course any disease process is much more easily managed if diagnosed and treated as early as possible.

Vaccinations remain a critical component of your pet's annual wellness exam. We will review your pet's history and make recommendations on what is needed based on your pet's lifestyle. For many pets vaccines every three years are more than adequate. This has been proven in many studies and has become widely accepted in the veterinary community. So again, while vaccines are very important they have ultimately become a less critical part of your pet's health because they are just so effective now. Annual physical exams, dental care, parasite prevention, and sound nutrition are among the many things that have taken greater rolls in modern veterinary medicine than annual vaccinations.
